It is with a heavy heart and a deep sense of responsibility that I announce the end of the DevEvilBot Discord service. This decision was not made lightly, and it has been an incredibly challenging and emotional journey to get to this point. After much reflection and careful consideration of both personal and external factors, I’ve come to the conclusion that discontinuing DevEvilBot is the best course of action — not just for me as its developer, but for the community of users who have relied on the bot for entertainment, community building, and so much more.

The difficulties I’ve faced in keeping DevEvilBot alive are largely tied to external circumstances, which are, unfortunately, beyond my control. Due to my country being under international sanctions, I am unable to verify my identity through the usual channels. Here’s the story: In an attempt to comply with Discord’s verification process for developers, I reached out to the Discord admin team, explaining my situation. Stripe, the platform responsible for identity verification, confirmed that I had already been verified. However, when I tried logging into Discord, the platform insisted that I was not verified.

After months of back-and-forth communication, the response I finally received from Discord was deeply frustrating: "We can’t do anything. You’ll need to find someone else who can verify your identity using their passport or ID card." In other words, they left me with no real solution. This has not only prevented DevEvilBot from achieving official verification, but it has also stunted the growth and expansion that I envisioned for the bot. And after much reflection, it became clear that moving forward in this environment was unsustainable.

DevEvilBot was designed to be more than just a bot. It was created to provide Discord users with fun and engaging features, including games, moderation tools, and community-building functions. Over time, it grew in popularity, and I felt a profound sense of accomplishment in seeing users enjoy the bot's features. Communities were formed, friendships were strengthened, and countless conversations were sparked because of the simple creation that I had poured my heart into.

However, as the bot grew, so did the demands of maintaining it. Between the challenges of regular updates, fixing bugs, handling server maintenance, and ensuring compliance with Discord’s ever-evolving terms of service, it has become clear that maintaining DevEvilBot is no longer viable. As much as I wanted to continue providing an engaging experience for users, the external barriers — especially the inability to verify the bot — have made it impossible to sustain the service in the long run.

I know this decision will come as a disappointment to many of you, especially those who have used DevEvilBot regularly to enhance your Discord experience. I’ve seen firsthand how many of you have formed connections, friendships, and even communities centered around the bot’s functionality. For that, I am deeply grateful, and I want you to know that the decision to discontinue DevEvilBot was not made lightly. I explored every possible avenue, from contacting Discord multiple times to seeking alternative solutions, but at the end of the day, the hurdles were insurmountable.

Over the next few weeks, I will be phasing out the DevEvilBot service, giving everyone ample time to switch to other Discord bots that can provide similar features. I will also be available to offer support during this transition period, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you encounter any issues or have questions about moving to alternative solutions.

To all my users, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support, feedback, and engagement made DevEvilBot what it was. I deeply regret that external circumstances prevented me from continuing to serve you in the way I had hoped, but I trust that this decision, as hard as it is, will ultimately lead to better opportunities for both myself and the communities that DevEvilBot touched.

I apologize for any inconvenience this decision may cause, and I appreciate your understanding as we move through this transition together.

Sincerely,

DevEvil
